TFMW/Clubmx Ends SX Championship 3rd Place Overall

Chesterfield, SC (May 5, 2014) – The final round of the supercross series that took place in Las Vegas Saturday night offered a great opportunity for the first-year Factory Metal Works team. Going into the race, rider Vince Friese had an opportunity to make history by becoming the first privateer take 3rd place overall in the series as a privateer in well over a decade. Vince was in a 3-way tie for 3rd in the series with Blake Baggett and Adam Cianciarulo and needed to score one point in order to pass both riders. Despite an early crash in the main event, Vince was able to fight back to secure enough points to solidify 3rd place overall in the east coast championship standings with a 10th place in the main event. Vince feels that he has made great strides this season and will be ready to contend for a championship in 2015.

AJ Catanzaro had a quiet yet respectable night in Vegas, ending his season with a 12th place finish. AJ was able to move up several spots in the race after starting in the 15th position. During timed qualifying AJ posted a time of (1:17.7) which was good for 17th overall. It has been a consistent season for AJ as he was able to record a top-5 finish as well as several top-10s throughout the year as well as placing 13th overall in the east coast point standings. AJ is looking forward to next supercross season as well as setting his sights on the upcoming outdoor series.
